Policy Agenda

Take Action

Your voice matters! Join our advocacy efforts to make a meaningful impact on early childhood policies in Nevada. By taking action, you can contribute to creating positive change for children, families, and communities across the state. Together, we can build a stronger future for our youngest citizens.

Our Priorities

We wholeheartedly support the Nevada Strong Start Prenatal to Three policy priorities, focusing on health, early learning, and early childhood workforce. Our comprehensive approach aims to establish the Nevada Office of Early Childhood Systems, invest in sustainable wages for early childhood professionals, and eliminate regulatory barriers to expand home-based child care options.

Early Learning

  • Advocate for State Subsidy Reimbursement Rates to cover quality care and special needs.

  • Establish State General Funds to sustain Nevada's Child Care Development program.

  • Create The Nevada Office of Early Childhood Systems to enhance coordination and support.

Early Childhood Workforce

  • Invest in competitive wages and benefits to retain a quality early childhood workforce.

  • Remove regulatory barriers for potential home-based child care providers in rental properties.

Health

  • Expand Medicaid eligibility to 200% of the FPL for improved healthcare access.

  • Extend postpartum care to 12 months for better maternal and infant health outcomes.

  • Foster family bonding through Paid Family Leave policies.

  • Support Home Visiting services to promote positive child development and parental support.

Employers and Economic Leaders

Engaging employers and economic leaders is vital for creating family-friendly policies and workplace practices that support working parents. We collaborate with businesses to promote Paid Family Leave policies and advocate for family-friendly workplace environments that benefit both employees and employers.

Early Childhood Professionals

We are dedicated to supporting early childhood professionals by advocating for competitive wages, professional development, and resources to ensure their success in providing high-quality care and education.

Families

We stand by families, advocating for accessible and affordable early childhood programs that offer a nurturing environment for children to thrive.

Community Leaders

Together with community leaders, we strive to build strong and supportive communities where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
